Nežka is wearing a new matching collar and lead from "Nu-Buk" Collection. This collection is made from strong but still soft nubuk leather and for this properties I can guarantee that is very appropriate for every day use - also rain & mud resistant :)

NEŽKA VS. VERUSCHKA :)

It was a very hot, steaming summer day. Without a doubt, we knew that this will be a hard "fight" between a young teenager whippet Nežka and borzoi Veruschka. On the field they clarify who is the fastest and who have "duracel" energy :) ... Ooooooooooooo this "fight" was quickly over after Veruschka press her "turbo" button and she burned all fuel in a few minutes ... please stop this heating ;)

Nežka and Veruschka had really fun time together. Both of them have a gentle character and are very playful :) ... and of course humans were enjoying too :D

Whippets were bred to hunt by sight, coursing game in open areas at high speeds.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN : England / United Kingdom

BRIEF HISTORY (summary)
One can find numerous representations of small greyhound-like hounds in art dating back to Roman times but the first written English use of the word "whippet" with regard to a type of dog was in 1610. The age of the modern whippet dawned in 1890 when the English Kennel Club granted the breed official recognition, thus making the whippet eligible for competition in dog shows, and commencing the recording of their pedigrees. In the United States, the whippet was recognized in 1888 by the American Kennel Club. Early specimens were taken from the race track by dog fanciers of the time and exported all over the world. The whippet's versatility as a hunting, racing, exhibition or companion dog soon made it one of the most popular of the sighthound breeds.

GENERAL CHARACTER AND TEMPERAMENT
The Whippet is a gentle, patient, tolerant and affectionate dog. Although they are competitive when racing, they are adaptable and quiet dogs. They love people but prefer to stay away from very young children who may handle them roughly. At home in castle or cottage, they make ideal companions. They can be highly strung and need understanding from their owners.

GENERAL APPAERANCE

The Whippet should have a head which is long and lean, flat on top and tapering to the muzzle with a slight stop. The jaws should have a perfect scissor bite. The eyes should be bright with a lively expression. Ears are small, fine-textured and are described as rose-shaped. The neck should be long and well muscled, the body moderately long with a very deep chest and well sprung ribs. The loins should be well arched. The legs are long and strong, feet are neat with thick, strong pads. The tail should be long with no feathering and the coat is short, fine and dense. They come in a variety of colours and combinations of colours.
